 Preparation for Sales Lavington Stud has a world-class reputation for its work in preparing sale horses and makes this a primary goal in its year-round care of foals and yearlings. Sales prep is undertaken for stud residents and outside clients. Manager, Tim Read said: "We put a lot of effort into making sure our horses are in peak condition at sale time - and prepare them to a very high standard. Our priority is to get them looking their absolute best - fit, healthy and walking extremely well. "I would say that we do as good a job as anyone. Our yearlings are proven to be extremely tough due to their environment." A horse walker is used in the sales fitness preparation in conjunction with many man hours spent grooming, walking and standing the horses. "We also know that time is critical at sales - horses only have a few minutes to impress buyers so their behaviour is critical. Our horses behave extremely well and that gives them a great advantage."
